Installation types
Industrial waste management can be organized differently based on production layout, volumes, and processing methods.
COMAFER’s solutions are available in three configurations:
- Automated installation systems for the Dinamic and Special series for the wood, paper, biomass, plastics, and other materials industries
- Stand-alone installation for the Metalpress 100 EVO for the metal industry
- Centralized installation for Metalpress 150 – 500 – 700 – 900 EVO for the metal industry
Automated
A system with an automatic bagging machine optimizes and automates the storage of produced briquettes in specific bags.
Stand-alone
The briquetting machine is installed near the waste source. Ideal for plants with a single processing station.
Centralized
A single system collects, compacts, and recovers coolant from metal chips coming from multiple stations. It optimizes space and reduces the investment per machine in a multi-line context.

What is the difference between automated, stand-alone, and centralized installation?
The three configurations differ in terms of their intended use and level of automation. The automated setup combines the briquetting machine with a Rotor bagging machine to sequentially pack the briquettes into bags, making it ideal for wood, paper, plastic, and biomass. The stand-alone setup positions the Metalpress 100 EVO briquetting machine directly on the machine tool, making it suitable for workshops with a machining center. The centralized setup collects chips from multiple machines and conveys them to a single compaction point using the Metalpress 150–900 EVO, ideal for multi-line environments.
Which materials can be briquetted with COMAFER machines?
COMAFER handles over 60 types of materials divided into 7 categories: wood, metals, textiles, biomass (straw, pomace, rice husk…), plastic, paper/cardboard, and special materials (MDF, leather, feathers). For materials not listed, it is possible to send a sample to the Research and Development department for a free briquetting test.
Does COMAFER install the machines directly, or do I need to hire an outside installer?
COMAFER offers a comprehensive service that includes consulting, supply, and after-sales support provided by qualified technicians. For details on installation in your specific setting, please contact the sales team directly.
Can I integrate COMAFER machines into an existing system?
Yes. COMAFER briquetting machines support the OPC-UA communication protocol, which enables integration with systems already in place at the company, as well as remote diagnostics and updates.
Can I briquette different materials using the same machine?
It depends on the model. Some briquetting machines—particularly the Metalpress series with automatic briquette length adjustment—allow you to process chips of different sizes without manual intervention. For materials that vary significantly from one another, COMAFER technicians evaluate the most suitable solution.
I'm not sure if my material can be turned into briquettes. How can I check?
COMAFER has an in-house testing department: you can send a sample of your material for a free briquetting test. Our technicians will provide you with the results and a recommendation on the most suitable model.
